How to Keep Your Shed Clean

At Deer Creek Structures, we offer more than just portable barns and stables for your animals. We also offer high-quality sheds that are perfect for storing tools, equipment, and just about anything else. However, no matter what type of shed you own, keeping it clean and tidy should be one of your top priorities. While a shed is great for keeping things out of sight, it can quickly turn into a mini junkyard with little room to find what you’re actually looking for. Take advantage of the following tips to ensure your shed is always kept in order.

When you go to clean your shed, it is important to do a complete job. Moving a few things around isn’t going to help you in the long run. The best thing you can do is to remove everything in the shed so it’s completely empty. This will allow you to clean the entire interior before organizing the equipment and tools you keep inside.

After hosing down the shed and making sure every corner of it is as clean as possible, leave the door open to give it some time to dry out. While it is drying, you can take the time to organize everything you took out of it. There will likely be a few things you won’t need, which you can proceed to throw away or recycle. Separate everything into different piles according to what you want to keep or get rid of.

Finally, you will be ready to restock your shed. Try to place smaller items in bins to keep them secure, and don’t stack too many things on top of each other. Also, try to leave enough floor space available so you can walk around and find what you need in the future. While you may have to do a complete clean every year or so, it is worth it so you can get the most out of your shed!
